The STOP campaign involving the Swiss Embassy, Lulu and a group of planet-loving teenagers in Abu Dhabi has brought down the usage of plastic bags by 12 to 15 per cent, according to the supermarket management
The 75kg cake made of at least 150 eggs and God knows how much sugar, butter and flour, all covered in green coloured cream to fit the celebration, was tantalisingly displayed in the middle of Khalidiya Mall and fiercely guarded by its bakers, the Lulu supermarket chefs, and the mall’s security guards. It was not to be touched until the end of the ceremony.
