Emirati academic gains entry into American fellows programme

6 years

ABU DHABI – Dr Ali Al Mansoori, Associate Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology’s Ras Al Khaimah Colleges, has become the first Emirati academic to gain entry into the prestigious American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows Programme which will see him being mentored by a US University President next year.

The ACE Fellows Programme is extremely competitive and sees just 50 leading academics each year accepted into the mentoring programme, as they are groomed for future roles as University Presidents. Until recently, the Fellows Programme was only open to American citizens; however Dr Al Mansoori’s acceptance into the rigorous programme will allow other Emiratis with experience in higher education administration to apply.

Dr Al Mansoori’s entry into the programme has been highlighted by the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ACE and Shaikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research on behalf of the three federal higher education institutions — HCT, Zayed University and the UAEU.
