The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dell Technologies to obtain state-of-the-art technical support for the development of smart blockchain-based solutions in the interest of the government of the UAE. The MoU also aims at empowering Dell Technologies to develop blockchain-based tools to help Emirati staff contribute to the federal government’s Digital Transformation Plan and to continuously optimise technology in line with the latest trends.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Addel Al Ameri, HCT VP for Strategy and Future, and Mohammed Amin, Senior Vice President, Middle East, Turkey and Africa at Dell Technologies, in the presence of representatives from both entities.
“HCT have entered a new phase in its digital transformation journey, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to create economic and creative free zones that provide young people and entrepreneurs with opportunities to present, adopt and develop their ideas,” said Dr. Al Ameri. “This is a reflection of our ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions to support the country’s business and economic sectors and we are keen to build effective partnerships in advanced technologies with leading local and international organisations to support new trends for the future.”
“Collaboration with Dell Technologies aims at leveraging technology expertise and research in support of HCT projects and the free zones in their innovative business concepts and solutions based on state-of-the-art technology across all divisions and services,” added Dr. Al Ameri.
“This partnership will help HCT to provide expertise and knowledge to support the establishment of an excellence centre focused on developing blockchain solutions for the UAE government, which aims to invest in this advanced technology in the development of a cutting-edge paperless work system in the administrative departments while linking them with relevant government entities. This technology centre can also help accelerate performance, increase efficiency at a lower cost and enhance information security, with a focus on actively engaging students in projects and activities based on advanced technologies, enabling them to invest in their projects and develop futuristic ideas.”
Mohammed Amin said: “Dell Technologies is delighted to establish this partnership with HCT, which is a visionary of higher education in the country. We are committed to dedicate time and expertise to support its endeavors of developing technology as a platform for the future.”
Through cooperation with Dell Technologies, HCT is seeking to obtain a wide range of advanced technology solutions that will primarily support its students, customers and stakeholders. In addition to leveraging Dell Technologies’ knowledge and expertise, HCT plans to set up a joint team to work on reviewing future cooperation opportunities to achieve the benefits of this strategic collaboration.
Dell Technologies will propose solutions that will help HCT and its stakeholders progress in their digital transformation journey and will form a joint team to focus on technology infrastructure and technology solutions that meet the current and future needs of HCT.
