Sweating It Out – RKM’s Biggest Loser Awarded For Fitness Challenge

The HCT-RAK Men’s campus’s (RKM) Student Life Department has hosted a challenging health and fitness event, designed to encourage the RKM community to be fitter and eat more nutritious food.

The campus’s Biggest Loser competition was held from October 7 to December 12, 2018, and the results are now in. Among the participants, Hesham Abdelmonem, a General Services and Projects staff member was named the competition winner, weighing 111 kg on the final day of the weigh-in; down from 118 kg.

The event was participated in by a healthy number of students, faculty and staff. The participants were given around 45 days to reduce body weight by indulging in a fitness program and proper nutrition.

The awarding ceremony was recently held at the RKW campus were Dr. Yahya Al Ansaari (RAK campuses Executive Director) and the Student Life team presented a trophy and a gift to Hesham.

The activity was initiated to promote Healthy Lifestyle and to spread the importance of being physically active.
