RKM Kicks Off Sports Community Outreach for High Schools

1 year

The HCT-Ras Al Khaimah Men’s campus (RKM) sporting fields were the venue for an action-packed Secondary Schools 7-a-Side Football tournament convened by the RKM Student Life Sports Department. It was participated in by five (5) Government Secondary Schools around Ras Al Khaimah.

It was a grueling, action-packed 10- game football tournament, played by about 60 Grade 12 students with a special participation from HCT-RKM Football team. A single round robin format in the elimination round made two top teams in each group advanced to the semi-final. A cross-pairing to the final round was implemented where top four (4) teams eventually made it to the semi-final round, namely HCT-RKM Football team, Al Jazeera Al Hamra Boys’ School, Tonb Boys’ School, and Ras Al Khaimah Boys School.

The Championship match was hard-fought between HCT-RKM and Tonb Boys’ School. The game ended up in a draw (2-2) during the regulation time pushing both teams to go to a penalty shoot-out. The Tonb Boys’ team has emerged as the 7-A-Side Football champs with a score of 3-2. Al Jazeera Boys’ School took the Bronze outdoing Ras Al Khaimah Boys’ School in a 2-0 margin.

The RKM Community Sports Outreach program was organised to promote camaraderie, happiness and healthy Lifestyle amongst the youth in Ras Al Khaimah.
