RKM Students Expand Knowledge With Visits to UAE Learning Resources Centers

12 months

The Library at the HCT-Ras Al Khaimah Men’s (RKM) has opened up endless learning opportunities for its students with an initiative whereby students visit other learning resources institutions around the UAE.

In cooperation with the Foundations Program, a field trip consisting of 12 students took place on Wednesday 15th November 2018 to the Sharjah Public Library, which is one of the largest libraries in the UAE containing more than 570,000 books, including 1200 unique books. Annually, it is visited by more than 35,000 people and the number of annual loans reaches 95,000.

In order to promote the culture of reading and specifically online reading, the team of Sharjah Public Library took the RKM students on a tour to learn about the different sections, various resources, and events taking place as well as explaining the process of borrowing any type of resources.

The students enjoyed the field trip as they are in the stage of selecting their major and got a clear picture of where they can get related books when visiting Sharjah Public Library web page or when visiting it in person.
