AAM Foundations Students Visit Abu Dhabi’s Louvre Museum

8 months

On Tuesday, November 20, 2018 Levels 3 & 4 three Foundations students explored art and culture at the HCT-Al Ain Men’s campus (AAM) when they visited the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi.

The students explored art and artifacts from twelve different time periods. Aided by a personal tour guide, the students started with ancient periods by viewing stone tools and made their way all the way through time to explore how artists have begun to incorporate technology into their art.

Students explored different artistic themes by comparing pieces from different locations in the same time period. They looked at the influence of light and thought about what it might symbolize and noticed changes in how realistically artists have portrayed their subjects over time.

The fascinating experience generated many questions from the students who engaged in discussion with the knowledgeable guide. She happily answered before bidding the students farewell in the outdoor section of the museum designed to mimic the way light shines through the Al Ain Oasis. It was a fitting end to an AAM field trip.
