SJM Honors Sheikh Zayed with Leadership Forum

In honor of the “Year of Zayed”, the HCT-Sharjah Men’s campus (SJM) hosted a Leadership Forum entitled “قادة وطن ..على نهج زايد”.

The Forum aimed to celebrate His Late Highness Shaikh Zayed’s leadership and how SJM students can embrace and develop their leadership skills to follow Sheikh Zayed’s legacy.

Dr. Abdulla Al Suwaiji, SJM Director, commenced the Forum by welcoming the speakers and the students and sharing examples of Sheikh Zayed’s  leadership as the founding father of the UAE.

The Forum hosted a group of UAE National community leaders who were able to demonstrated their leadership in different sectors and areas in the community. All speakers talked about how they were personally inspired by His Late Highness and shared memories that helped them become the leaders they are today in their own walks of life and career.

The speakers included Ms. Mona Safari, who has been distinguished in leadership and is currently the Director of THATI program under the Office of Her Highness Sheikha Jawahar  Al Qasimi. Ms. Safari talked about the importance of supporting youth leadership and the initiatives provided by the UAE leadership to help the youth acquire and develop leadership skills.

Mr. Saeed Altenaiji, former vice-president of the UAE Football Association, spoke about how the sports sectors was supported by His Late Highness and the importance of sports in creating individuals with the persistence and the insistence needed to succeed on national and international levels.

Ms. Mariam AlBisher spoke about the importance of self-development in leadership and highlighted the importance of volunteering and giving back the community which is in line with HCT 2.0.

The Forum was moderated by Dr. Maryam Hashemi, a Faculty member at SJM. Students had the opportunity at the end to ask questions on how they can develop their spirit of creativity, excellence, and leadership.

Dr. Abdulla AlSuwaiji honored the speakers and commended their attendance and beneficial interaction with the students. Dr. AlSuwaiji also thanked the organizers and the volunteers for their efforts in organizing such an important Forum.
