In an effort to help the local community, volunteering students and counsellors from the HCT-RAK Women’s campus (RKW) gave a helping hand to the Ras Al Khaimah Autism Center during its Autism Awareness event.
Leading up to the awareness day, RKW counsellors and the volunteering students visited the Autism Center in order to learn about the center’s various departments and the services offered to the local community. They also attended awareness sessions provided by the center’s specialist.
The training sessions with autistic children gave the RKW volunteering students the opportunity to learn how to deal with the Determined Ones.
the volunteers were extremely happy and gained many skills, including interpersonal skills, leadership, communication, volunteering and social skills). They were also very happy to be learn the best ways to interact with the Determined Ones.
