Each year on April 18, nations celebrate World Heritage Day, with the aim of raising awareness on the importance of preserving international and national cultural heritage.
The HCT-Ras Al Khaimah (RKW) joined in the celebrations by hosting its own activities for students, staff and faculty. They encouraged them to share their cultural and natural heritage by donning their national costumes, showcasing their country’s arts and crafts, performing a traditional dance/song or sharing your native dishes.
Cultural diversity is a source of pride for nations; tangible evidence of their legacy and originality. It encourages communities and individuals throughout the world to consider the importance of cultural heritage to their lives and identities. Our ancestors have told us that: “He who does not have a past, will not have a future”.
At RKW, the common theme was “Let’s celebrate this day with books and readings on Arab heritage”.
