The HCT-Dubai Women’s campus (DBW) celebrated the successes of 482 graduating students, as it held its Class of 2017 graduation ceremony on April 22, 2018.
The ecstatic students, graduating from the Applied Media Business, Computer Information Science, Education, Engineering Technology and Health Sciences programs, attended a glittering ceremony at the DBW auditorium, in presence of Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Sheikha Khuloud Al Mualla, HCT-Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Dr. Tarifa Al Zaabi, DBW Director, members of the administrative and teaching bodies, and students’ mothers.
This ceremony was of particular significance for those graduating with the honor of Distinction, as the number of graduates with honors increased to 143 students graduated with distinction, distinction with honour and distinction with highest honour.
Dr. Tarifa Al Zaabi, DBW Director, emphasized in her speech that this year’s ceremony was special as it was held in the Year of Zayed, reflecting that the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan built a country of achievement and leadership with his belief in people and their ability to achieve greatness, while championing education as a major priority.
Dr. Al Zaabi mentioned HCT’s national responsibility, as the largest higher education institution, in the graduation of quality competencies that help to develop its HCT 2.0 initiative, to meet the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. She also touched on HCT’s role to prepare students with professional and practical skills to be ready for jobs did not exist yet, and to reach the goal of achieving 100% graduate employment by 2021.
Dr. Tarifa Al Zaabi congratulated the graduates on the momentous occasion, calling them Zayed’s daughters, and the pride of this country.
At the end of the ceremony, Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Sheikha Khuloud Al Mualla, Dr. Tarifa Al Zaabi granted the certificates and degrees to 628 new DBW graduates, from a total of 5978 HCT graduates.
