Mr. Ayman Ramadan and Sharjah Men’s campus (SJM) student Hussain Falah Bin Bishr attended to Ministry of Energy & Industry Symposium on UAE Ground Water Sustainability in Sharjah, which was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, the Ministry Undersecretary.
Dr. Matar delivered a keynote speech highlighting the present challenges and impacts affecting the exploitation of UAE ground water, such as the over exploitation and the increasing concerns about the declining reserves as well as the rising salinity and contamination by residential and industrial waste.
Further presentations were delivered by Ministry executives and partnering water consultant “Isle” about the overall status of ground water reserve quantities and quality, ground water monitoring and modelling technologies and important case studies about monitoring and conserving ground water conducted in Australia, Africa and South America.
Mr. Ayman has been in discussions with the Ministry executives and the “ Isle’ consultants to prospect opportunities to align HCT engineering applied research and students senior design projects with UAE ground water conservation projects. They welcomed cooperation with HCT in such ventures.
