The HCT-Al Ain Women’s campus (AAW) students attending the annual Sports Day celebration on February 13 were in for a pleasant surprise.
In addition to the usual games and activities, the day included a challenge called “Warrior Woman Challenge”, made up of fun and challenging obstacles and designed to test the physical strength, mental toughness, teamwork and overall fitness of each and every Warrior (student).
The courses accommodated participants with various skills and fitness levels for a hardcore challenge. Each course consisted of a wide range of obstacles where the Warriors ran, crawled, jumped, climbed and slid their way to the finish line. Completing the Warrior Women Challenge courses left the Warriors with a feeling of accomplishment unlike any other.
It was particularly notable that participants could enjoy the activities, which would not be possible for them to participate in outside the context of the Higher Colleges of Technology.
Mercedes Cebrian, Specialist Sports in the AAW Student Life department, said: “It has been such a pleasure to organize the Warrior Women Challenge at AAW as a theme for Sports Day, since the main encouragement was to challenge the students and so get them challenging themselves as well, believing that the feeling of accomplishment is unlike any other.”
