Safety a Hot Issue at AAM Fire Fighting and Emergency Response Training

2 years

The HCT-Al Ain Men’s College (AAM) recently organized a successful Fire Fighting and Emergency Response Training session for its employees.

A certified trainer from Tawazun Safety, Security and Disaster Management City (JAHEZIYA) introduced AAM staff to basic fire science and ways of minimizing loss of lives and damages to properties.

The training was divided into two sessions. In the first session, the staff learned the theoretical part of firefighting and safety and learned about fire causes, Fire Triangle, Heat Transfer, Methods of Extinguishing a Fire, Actions to be taken in the event of fire, Classification of fire & Fire Extinguishing Media, etc..

Then, the staff had the chance to put what they had learned to the test. Small, purposefully-lit fires were set off in a safe area and the staff demonstrated that they were able to control the fires with proper extinguishers using the procedure P.A.S.S. (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep.)
