The HCt-Sharjah Men’s campus (SJM) organised a field visit for Business and Engineering students to the World Economy Summit and the WETEX (Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment) Exhibition in the World Trade Centre, Dubai.
The students, who attended a series of informative seminars, were accompanied by Faculty of Business members Mrs. Rasha Abou Samra, Mr. Mario Gibrael, and Dr. Kalpana Solanki. The field trip was a practical, out-of-class experience for the students and it supports the real-life learning and experiential learning approaches of HCT.
This field visit was serving the learning outcomes for a number of courses. The innovation and entrepreneurship students were able to learn about the challenges of having sustainable innovation in the future to fit with the UAE vision in 2030.
The Economics’ students were able to learn about the meaning of green economy, the economic crisis, the relationship between economic sectors and innovation, and how to utilize economic resources properly. Also the Management students were able to learn about the managerial trends in the field of economics and innovation.
The students were able to meet with experts and ask them about issues relevant to their courses.
