The AAW Business students, studying Strategic HRM, from the HCT-Al Ain Women’s campus (AAW) visited Al Ain Farms for Livestock Production on November 15 to get a first-hand industry experience of management practices.
The field trip was organized to provide students a greater opportunity to relate their theoretical knowledge to real life industry situations. It started with a brief introduction about the company including the major functions of Human Resource Management. A highlight for students was the site visit to the milk production area, as well as the cattle and camel farms.
Of great practical significance was the presentation and interactive session between students and the HR business partners, discussing the strategic role of Human Resource Management in achieving the company’s success.
Students were able to relate their theoretical knowledge to the actual HR operations of Al Ain Dairy. The company underscored how the political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal (PESTEL) environment affects its overall operations and laid out some of the key HR strategies in order to overcome these challenges.
It was a truly remarkable experience for students which was made possible through the HR Department of Al Ain Farms for Livestock Production.
Shamsa Rashed, one of the AAW Business graduating students, said: “It was the best field trip I have ever been on. Thank you AAW for giving me this amazing opportunity to relate my theoretical knowledge to actual practice.”
The AAW’s Faculty of Business extends its warmest appreciation to the organization for their generous support and excellent hospitality.
