With November’s temperatures tempting people to spend more time outside, the only sizzling happening at the HCT-Al Ain Women’s campus (AAW) on November 12 was the sound of burgers cooking, as the college organized an outdoor food festival.
The well-patronized festival was one of many happiness initiatives that the campus’s highly active happiness and positivity committee organizes throughout the year to help the AAW family take a break from the demands of studies and teaching.
AAW faculty and staff members were joined by students to create mouth-watering culinary treats for the whole campus to savor. From the ever-popular burgers to more traditional rice and vegetable dishes, healthy and refreshing drinks and, of course, ice-creams, fruit salads and other sweet treats, every palette was catered for.
Complementing the fabulous food, a number of video games, and other fun activities, were provided to test dexterity and agility.
The fun-filled and aromatic day wasn’t just a case of filling hungry stomachs and facilitating a chance to relax in the beautiful weather. Importantly, the highly successful cooking spree raised funds from the food purchases, which will be donated to a charity of the campus’s choice.
