The HCT-Abu Dhabi Women’s campus (ADW) celebrated the 46th UAE National Day with an outpouring of national fervour and devotion at a colorful and uplifting day of events on the campus on November 27.
More than 1000 students, staff and visitors celebrated an open day of cultural activities lauding the creation of the UAE on the 2nd December 1971.H.E. Mohammad Omran Al Shamsi, HCT Chancellor, and Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, HCT Vice Chancellor, and Deputy Vice Chancellors were the guests of honor at the ADW celebrations, officiated by Dr. Aisha Abushelaibi, ADW Director. They were joined by HCT management and staff, and ADW students, faculty and staff.
Students, staff and visitors enjoyed the different activities and performances, such as the Police Band, a schools students’ performance, the Al Mazyood Band and poetry recitals.
In addition, there was a range of exciting activities organized by Applied Media students such as the creative self corner, while Computer Information Science students created a National Day VR App and a Draw your Trip and phishing attack demonstration.
The Technical Studies Program students organized a photographic display entitled ” My Emirates” and the General Studies students organized an artwork exhibition. A group of enterprising Pakistani faculty and staff organized a UAE-Pakistan corner.
During the day there were many activities for all attendees and their families, such as a Kids’ Fun Corner, Heritage Village, Sea Environment, Bazaar, Paint to Express, Loyalty Gratitude Look, and Henna Hand Drawing.
