The HCT-Al Ain Men’s campus’s (AAM) Engineering Faculty hosted their second campus-based Committee (IAC) meeting on November 21 in order to share updates on the Engineering programs.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Nisar Qureshi and Fatima Alameri, Senior Manager Campus Support, and was attended by industry partners, alumni, selected engineering faculty and members from the Student Life and Academic Services department.
Mr Morad Lutfi, Senior Manager, Industry Partnership, and Sameh Raslan, Manager, Industry Partnership, also attended the meeting. Mr Sameh made a presentation on the HCT 2.0 and the importance of industry partnership.
The meeting agenda covered a number of items, including HCT 2.0, AAM engineering updates, Electrical/ Mechanical Alumni feedback, industry feedback and suggestions and discussion and review of the capstone projects display by the AAM engineering students.
Dr. Nisar highlighted the importance of the engineering IAC in ensuring the success of students, graduates, and the college.
The IAC members are a key liaison between the college and the community to ensure that the engineering programs are relevant to industry need. They also mentioned that our graduate students are well prepared and skilled to start their careers in the engineering sector. The alumni suggested that the students should have the opportunity to improve their technical skills during their study years.
After this interesting and useful meeting between the IAC members and the engineering staff, they went around to see the Senior Design Projects displayed by the AAM graduating students. The IAC members too keen interest in the projects and appreciated the students’ efforts.
