The Healthy Habits Club at the HCT-Ras Al Khaimah Men’s campus’s (RKM) Student Life department knows all about combining activity and fun as they hold a 5-kilometre Walk for Fitness activity every Wednesday in the Ras Al Khaimah Corniche area.
The weekly event is well-supported with participation by some health-conscious students, faculty and staff.
The event aims to promote healthy and active lifestyle to the RAK campuses community. It has been proven that indulging in physical activity can be personally rewarding to one’s health status; it can improve heart and lungs function, reduced risk of heart attack and stroke, improves mood, reduced body fat, improves quality of sleep and increase energy level.
The 5-kilometre walk is one of many different physical fitness activities the Healthy Habits Club has lined up for the academic year. It is also jump-start activity for RAK campuses, held in connection with the Dubai Fitness Challenge nationwide initiative.
