The HCT-Madinat Zayed and Ruwais campuses hosted Shuweihat S1, S2, and S3 for the Employer on Campus events in a marathon period of October 22-31, 2017.
The Shuweihat S1, S2, and S3 are part of an Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA) initiative that was initiated in the late 1980s.
With the intention to provide secure, safe and reliable supplies of water and electricity and to encourage private sector investment, in early 1998, ADWEA embarked on the privatization of the water and power industry. In the process, ADWEA formed eight private sector companies in Abu Dhabi & Fujairah, with different multinational companies engaged in the production of water and power.
There is one plant at Umm Al Nar, three plants in Taweelah, two plants in Fujairah, and three plants in Shuweihat, which are comprised of:
- Shuweihat CMS International known as SCIPCO (S1)
- Shuweihat S2 Operation and Maintenance Company known as S2OMCO (S2)
- Shuweihat Asia Power Company known as SAPCO (S3)
All three employers were very keen to offer employment, sponsorship, and work placement opportunities to HCT-Al Dhafra campuses’ students and graduates from the Engineering and Business majors.
Students and alumni’s showed great interest in the opportunities of all three companies, with many interviews being conducted throughout the event period and many more interviews will follow for the shortlisted candidates.
Dr. Hashim Al Zaabi, HCt-Al Dhafra campuses Director, thanked the Shuweihat companies for their participation in the event, their efforts to support HCT students and graduates, and their help to build HCT students’ and graduates’ futures with the local industry.
