The regular Employer on Campus events at the HCT-Al Ain Men’s campus (AAM) have become highly popular in the eyes of both students and graduates who seek recruitment, work experience, part time, summer jobs and volunteer work.
To support students and graduates employment and other needs, the AAM Career Centre hosted the Abu Dhabi Investment Council on October 25, 2017 for the Employer on Campus. Two representatives from the organization, Mr. Ali Alzaabi, Team Leader, Emiratisation Unit, and Mr. Sultan Al Hosani, Senior Analyst, Risk Management Unit gave a highly insightful presentation on the functions of ADIC.
In addition, opportunities were opened to the students and graduates from the different majors offered at the college and they got the chance to connect with the representatives and as a result had a lot to gain and benefit from the event.
Both representatives were impressed with the students’ attitude and attendance and provided valuable information about their company and the nature of work there. They also gave a brief on the recruitment process they follow, answered students questions and guided them through the process of applying for the job vacancies available.
Mr. Ali and Mr. Sultan commented on the event by saying,”This is a great way to introduce their organization to the new audience of qualified and enthusiastic candidates seeking career advancement opportunities and gives the chance to expand the talent pool in their organization, help forecast hiring needs and help invest time and resources”.
The ADIC representatives said they were keen to visit the college once more next semester.
AAM Careers Specialist Sana Tobeh said that Employer on Campus initiative is an ingenious way to meet the needs of both employers and potential employees.
“It is important for students to attend and interact with different employers even if they are not looking for a job or internship. The more interaction with employers from different entities the more comfortable and confident they will become. Then, when it comes time to find a job or internship they will know what to expect. In addition, the Employer on Campus also introduces them to the realities of the job search and help them better understand all it takes to get a job,” Sana said.
