2 years

Applied Media students at HCT-Fujairah Women’s campus (FJW) attended a National Media Forum entitled “Media in other Languages “at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sharjah.

During the visit media students engaged in discussion with Dr. Ibrahim Al Hosani, Assistant Professor at Ajman University, and Ahmed Salem Bousmenouh which debated the effects of other languages on the country’s media channels.

The compelling and highly active discussion lasted for two hours as audience members and guest speakers tackled different topics.

Media student Mezna Al Yammahi stated: “The growth of other languages such as the dominance of the English language in the social media world isn’t a bad thing, it simply creates harmony between the Emirati youth and the UAE residents.”

The visit was an excellent opportunity for the FJW Applied Media students to build their future profiles in the media industries and seize the opportunity to network and meet media professionals.

Students from other universities came from a diverse range of institutions, such as University of Sharjah, Al Qasimia University, Al Ain University for Science and Technology, Ajman University,  Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah Women’s campuses and and Al-Jazira University in Dubai.
