DBM Students Given Wealth of Opportunities at Volunteer Fair

Students at the HCT-Dubai Men’s Campus (DBM) were introduced to a wealth of volunteering opportunities during DBM’s Volunteering Fair 2017 on October 11.

The fair was inaugurated by H.E. Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi, General Director of Watani Al Emarat, Mr. Majid Al Osaimi, President of the Asian Paralympics Committee and Executive Director of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, and Dr. Khaled Al Hammadi, DBM Director.

H.E. Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi, General Director of Watani Al Emarat, said:“We are proud to participate in various volunteering events and functions organized by the Higher Colleges of Technology because volunteering is an integral part of HCT students’ academic life.”

During the event, more than 10 organizations from the government, charity, and sports sectors showcased their volunteering opportunities for students.

Goodwill activities which were highlighted included building houses for families in poverty, supporting people of determination, and providing disaster relief. Additionally, general volunteering programs allowed students to develop their skills in event management, customer service, communication, and teamwork.

Many DBM students registered for future volunteering opportunities with the various participating entities.Mr. Majid Al Osaimi, praised HCT’s role in promoting and developing a volunteering culture amongst UAE youth.

“We greatly appreciate our community partners’ participation today and their commitment towards involving Dubai Men’s students in their respective charitable and humanitarian activities,” said Dr. Khaled Al Hammadi, DBM Director.

Tokens of appreciation were given to all DBM volunteering partners for their valuable contributions towards enriching students’ growth.
