HCT-Sharjah Men’s campus (SJM) student, Majed Hassan Ahmed Alattar Alawadhi, was the envy of his friends when he visited Expo Astana 2017 for Future Energy, in August, as a member of the UAE Ambassadors program.
Here, in his own words, Majed describes this wonderful opportunity, which was organized for the General Authority of Youth & Sports.
“Expo Astana 2017 was an opportunity to explore a multicultural country such as Kazakhstan and to find out how advanced green energy systems became in this world.
“Astana as a city was beyond my own expectations a modern and a very developed city where all the facilities are available, on the other side the nature of Astana city is incredible so it has a combination of the art of architecture and beautiful nature in addition of very welcoming citizens.
“In terms of structure and facilities the Expo was built in a way that makes you feel comfortable while visiting pavilions, shows are everywhere, restaurants and cafes are distributed perfectly around the expo. The Mall and the expo village were also attached to Expo with highly secured gates giving the visitor more safety and feel of comfort. The language was one of the major issues we faced in Astana, as most of citizens speak Russian only so we were not able to communicate easily.
“The Expo provides a very solid platform to SME to and boost the economy. The theme been ” future energy ” is very specific theme and show how the host country is considering a sustainable future energy and how to be more environmental.
“In the end, I’m happy because I was a member of the UAE Ambassadors program, 2017 in Kazakhstan – Astana and I am very proud that I represented my country at the Expo Astana 2017 For Future Energy.”
