HCT-RAK Campuses Welcome New Students to College Life

10 months

The HCT-Ras Al Khaimah campuses opened their doors to hundreds of new male and female students for the 2017-18 academic year, by hosting interactive and welcoming orientation days during the first week of the academic year.

The highly successful introductions aimed to provide the new students with the necessary information to meet and cope with the transition from the high school life to the college life.  The days also provided a wide range of information and activities encompassing both academic and extra-curricular life at the colleges.

The Men’s and Women’s campuses’ teams took the opportunity to introduce the various services and facilities at HCT. In addition, all departments & programmes gave awareness sessions to the freshman students and HCT-RAK graduates gave inspiring speeches in which they talked about their success stories, college life, as well as giving tips for success.

The campuses volunteer students got involved by welcoming their new mates and took all new students in a tour around the campuses. At the end of the day all students participated in a series of fun team building activities.

The 2nd day orientation, started with an uplifting video message from Dr.Abdullatif Al Shamsi, HCT Vice Chancellor, whose welcome message was inspiring to the new students. Dr. Al Shamsi wished the new students a successful academic year.

The orientation covered a lot of worthwhile information that covered a great deal of information about academic services & advising, student services, student council, IT resources, and awards and scholarship. The new students also got to share their input by providing feedback on college services with a survey.

The orientation events at both campuses were a resounding success, as the atmosphere for both days was full of happiness, where new students, parents, staff and faculties shared these wonderful moments together.
