The HCT-Al Ain Men’s campus (AAM) hosted fun and interactive Orientation Days to welcome new students for the 2017-18 Academic Year, and to assist them to understand HCT’s policies and culture, while offering some basic information and tips on college life.
Over 90 new students attended the two days, which were primarily designed to help the new students move forward in the college, make them feel that it is their home and that everyone is ready to help at any time. Also both days featured awareness lectures about several topics, mainly the key principles and rules followed by HCT.
Day 1 started with the UAE national anthem followed by the director welcoming speech. The students were then engaged with registration and distribution of giveaways, along with the student booklet kit, which included the Methaq handbook outlining the HCT Code of Conduct.
Dr. Yahya Al Ansaari, AAM Director, said: “We welcome all new students to AAM and HCT and wish them a successful academic life. This is a special journey that one day will end up with an individual gaining knowledge and wisdom of life.”
The welcome was followed up by a brief speech from the Program Chair from each of Education, Engineering, CIS, Veterinary Sciences, Business and Foundations, who introduced each of the Program majors, as well as regulations, attendance policy and procedures.
At the end of the day new student join the group’s tour around the AAM campus facilities.
Day 2 offered more information about the academic advising, student services, IT resources and student council affairs.
