AAW Family Gives Thanks with Eid Al Fitr Gathering

12 months

After the greatly welcomed Eid Al Fitr public holiday, faculty and staff at the Al Ain Women’s campus (AAW) resumed work on Wednesday, June 28.

Continuing the high spirit of Eid Al Fitr, the AAW family have organized a staff/faculty Eid Al Fitr celebration to exchange greetings and share Eid/holiday plans.

Eid Al Fitr is the first day of the Islamic month Shawwal and the first day after the month-long fasting and prayer during Ramadan. Muslims will start by paying the Zakat or Fitra, followed by going to mosques for the Eid Al Fitr prayer and to hear a sermon called khutba. They then return to their families to celebrate Eid, exchange greetings and distribute small portions of money to children as an act of spreading joy and happiness.

Mrs. Hamsa Saleh Al Ammari, AAW director, said on the occasion of the Eid Al Fitr, “We are grateful to Allah to have continued our fasting and had the chance to celebrate this year’s Eid Al Fitr with our families and friends. This year’s Eid has doubled in joy and happiness of the appearance of H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, while greeting the seven Emirates rulers in Abu Dhabi. May God protect our leaders and our precious homeland of the Emirates.”
