4 months

A group of final-year Applied Communication students from the HCT-Fujairah Women’s campus (FJW) have been privileged to observe the construction of the UAE’s second satellite and learn more about the UAE space initiatives when they visited the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) in Dubai.

Maryam Ahmed Alfalasi and Ayesha Abdulla AlMulla, Events Management Officers at MBRSC, welcomed the group and took the students on a fascinating educational tour of the facilities.

The MBRSC was established in 2015 by the Dubai Government to inspire scientific innovation, technological advancement, and to advance sustainable development in Dubai and the wider UAE.

The students also had the opportunity to meet Saeed Al Emadi and Humaid Adeeb Al Sharhan, Applied Communications graduates from the HCT-Dubai Men’s campus, during their visit.

Saeed and Humaid secured media positions at the centre, working as officers in the Media & Government Communication Section and Saeed explained the important roles of media department to support MBRSC.

Yulius Yulius, FJW Applied Communications Programme Chair, explained the value of such visits: “This visit will give media students a valuable insight of how they can use their media skills and knowledge to contribute to the country’s visions.”
