Seventeen HCT-Fujairah Women’s campus (FJW) Bachelor of Applied Communications students took center stage at the campus as they showcased their graphic design capstone projects in a three-day exhibition called, appropriately entitled “Seventeen”.
The Exhibition was opened by Ms. Safia AlRaqbani, FJW Director, Mona Almteiri, Marketing and Community Relations, and Yulius Yulius, Applied Communication Programme Chair.
The exhibition is part of the final Graphic Design Capstone project, where the student went through a semester process of moving from idea into final product, ready for exhibition. During the process students are encouraged to collaborate with local industries and organization which eventually some of them become their sponsors or even offers employment to the student. This year exhibition includes packaging design, fabric/fashion design, interior and furniture designs, as well as illustrations.
Jawaher Ali and Mona Ali, the student class representative and exhibition organizer, said: “Seventeen exhibition is combining all the creativity and years of learning the fundamentals of media together in one bee-cell; the exhibition showcases the work of Semester-8 media students under the concept of bee cells which represents unity and produce creativity.”
