RKW Engineering Students Win Overall Think Science 2017 Prize

A group of Engineering students from the HCT-Ras Al Khaimah Women’s campus (RKW) have outshone international-standard competitors with their innovative gadgetry to win the Think Science Fair 2017 held at Dubai.

The RKW family warmly congratulates the following students for their outstanding achievements, as overall winners of the Think Science Fair 2017, against more than 300 science projects displayed during the competition:

  • Aaesha Abdulrahman Rashed Alsharhan Alnuaimi
  • Asyya Mohammed Ahmed Malalla Alshehhi,
  • Basma Mohamad Ahmed Abdallah and
  • Hessa Saleh Ahmed Dalak Alshehhi


The students’ project, entitled “Translator Glove” and supervised by Adrian Miu, has truly marked a proud moment not only for the RAK campuses, but for the wider HCT family.

Among the five projects submitted by the RAK campuses there were two awards – the overall winning project and the third place trophy. The latter entry, entitled “Health Monitoring System”, was supervised by Dr. Yasser Mahgoub and the participating students included:

  • Azza Abdulghafoor Abdulla Almusali Alawadhi
  • Heyam Mohammed Moosa Al Shehhi
  • Mouza Khalifa Musabbeh Abdulla Majed Mesafri Al Mesafri
  • Zainab Abdul Majeed Mohammed Ebrahim Altameemi


The RAK campuses’ Management & Engineering Division extends its appreciation for this excellent performance and hopes this achievement establishes a platform for all future participants from the campuses, in the challenges that lie ahead.
