FJW Joins MOH Hospitals for Nursing Day Celebrations

Nursing has been a profession with high standards and a strong sense of public service for over centuries and nurses are among the most respected of all of our professions.

The Health Sciences Division at the Fujairah Women’s campus (FJW) to showcase the depth of the Nursing programme, by hosting a Nursing Day celebration under the theme of “Nurses: A voice to lead”. The theme was seen as very apt for the recognition of the profession as nurses lead at the workplace, at health care institutions, health centers, hospitals, educational institutions and research institutes.

The directors of nursing, unit managers, in-charge nurses from various hospitals, such as Fujairah, Kalba, Dibba and Khorfakkan actively participated in the day’s celebrations. There were many informative talks about the new nursing strategies, team work, and inspiration from nursing leaders.

A wide variety of fun simulation activities and games were organized for the participants to engage and to win fun interesting prizes. The students were enthusiastic and participated well to share the spirit of nursing, their best projects were displayed and also the museum of Fujairah Health Care was available in the gallery.

The community partners gave an excellent feedback for the event and were happy to see the positive minds and creativity of nursing students. The aim to promote new nursing intakes from local nurses is the big goal of the event. This community partnership has enhanced the Nursing students’ learning and training at the MOH hospitals and gave the students an excellent learning zone.

The students, staff, faculty and the participants enjoyed the grand event, which ended on a positive note after the lunch and getting to know each other.
