Two Abu Dhabi Men’s campus (ADM) Computer Information Science (CIS) students took home the top prize when they participated in the Emirates Technology and Innovation Competition (ETIC) – the biggest national competition in UAE and part of the Emirates Skills 2017 Competitions.
The CIS students, Ali Saif Alzaabi and Mohamed Omar Almehairbi, won the gold medal in the Mobile App Development category, which was a hotly contested category with a high caliber of entries.
Ali and Mohamed were very happy to bring the gold medal home.
“Despite their full load of classes and working on many projects, Ali Saif Alzaabi and Mohamed Omar Almehairbi found the competition an opportunity to challenge the knowledge and expertise gained through courses at ADM CIS department, ” Arif Al Nahdi, the students’ mentor, said.
Khalifa University and the Ministry of Education jointly organized the two-day ETIC, which was open to all UAE nationals from all UAE universities.
The ETIC is a great opportunity for students to measure their skills among their peers from all other universities and get valuable experience from engaging in the different tasks and activities during the days of the competition.
There were six categories – Computer Programming, Cyber Security, Mobile Applications, Game Development, Drones: Build and Fly, and Electronics: Design and Build.
