The HCT-Al Ain Women’s campus (AAW) celebrated the graduation of the 26th cohort at a glittering ceromony May 10, held under the patronage of Her Highness Dr. Sheikha Shamma Bint Mohammed Bin Khaled Al Nahyan.
A total of 181 graduates, representing Bachelor degree holders in Engineering Technology, Business, Computer Information Service and Education, took part in the event at the Zayed Library Theater in Al Ain.
The august gathering comprised of eminent luminaries, including H.H. Dr Sheikha Shamma Bint Mohammed Bin Khaled Al Nahyan, Chairperson of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khaled Al Nahyan Cultural Centre, Sheikha Khulood Al Mualla, HCT DVC Administrative Affairs and a member of the HCT Board of Trustees, Mrs Hamsa Saleh Al Ammari, AAW Director, and members of the AAW administrative and teaching staff.
The opening remarks of HH Dr Sheikha Shamma Bint Mohammed Bin Khaled Al Nahyan were motivating words for the graduates, knocking the doors of opportunity.
“I congratulate our female students, and I wish them excellence and success in every sphere of life. The road to success requires good intentions, helping and giving, which has always been the basis of the progress of the UAE, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, May God bless you all and bless our beloved country,” Her Highness said.
Mrs. Hamsa Saleh Al Ammari, AAW Director, on behalf of Sheikha Khulood Al Mualla, said to the enthusiastic audience: “We are honoured and grateful to have HH Sheikha Dr. Shamma Bint Mohamed Bin Khaled Al Nahyan with us today to grace this occasion. Happiness being the common element in all endeavors of life, I am sure your success would provide all of us with bliss, being parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, as you start shaping your dreams for the progress of the society and this wonderful country.” “I wish you all the very best in all your future milestones, which I am sure you would achieve, with similar passion and sense of belongingness as you had displayed throughout the academic program at HCT,” Mrs. Hamsa added.
Aysha Al Ahbabi, CIS graduate, was ecstatic after delivering the graduation speech on behalf of her peers. “My scholastic achievement is something I had been longing for quite some time now. The moment has finally dawned and honestly, it is yet to sink in completely.”
“Being the 26th batch of graduates of Higher College of Technology, we would contribute extensively towards the growth and development of the nation. We assure our leadership of our determination, dedication and hard work for converting every challenges into opportunities,” she added.
The graduates expressed their loyalty and devotion towards UAE and the leaders of the country, and asked that the almighty protect them all and provide them with the guidance to serve the country in the best possible way.
