As a part of the HCT’s Madinat Zayed and Ruwais Colleges’ yearly outreach school visits, HCT staff have hit the road and visited all the secondary schools in the Western region in the past month.
Working to support and inform schools of all the opportunities available for students at the HCT Madinat Zayed and Ruwais Colleges is an important part of outreach work. Therefore, the school visits have been an opportunity to introduce the high school students to the different opportunities and specializations available at HCT’s Western region campuses.
Al Gharbia is a huge area covering over two thirds of Abu Dhabi Emirate and visiting all the schools involves some long journeys, not only to the main population hubs, but to some of the more remote villages. The team visited schools in Madinat Zayed, Ruwais, Ghayyathi, and Mirfa’, as well as meeting with students from Sila at the Ruwais college.
As well as meeting with the school students and telling them about all the wonderful opportunities available for them when they become higher education students, the visits were important to help schools with any questions they might have on the application procedure for higher education.
Nuha Al Zaghari, Community and Outreach supervisor, accompanied by Nagham Abdul Khaliq, Hajar Al Hammadi and Majed Khan from Academic services, made sure to answer all queries from all students and teachers.
The outreach team also introduced the HCT’s Technical Studies Program (TSP), which is the new vocational program which is aimed to provide students with the skills required to successfully gain entry level positions of employment.
