Veterinary Programme students from the HCT-Al Ain Men’s (AAM) and the Sharjah Women’s (SJW) campuses have met at the AAM campus to start preparations relating to the organization of a proposed student-led conference, which will be held on September 20, 2017.
During the meeting, the attendees elected one male and one female students from each campus to act as campus ambassadors for the conference. The election process was based on student’s leadership, innovation, communication skills and abilities.
The meeting was fruitful and an invaluable opportunity for exchanging ideas, thoughts, perspectives, and opinions. It witnessed the birth of the first HCT Vet Student’s Club, named “SOUN”. Students also discussed and set the club’s vision, mission and objectives.
One of the important responsibilities of the club is to be the contact point between Veterinary students and campus ambassadors, which will ensure that students’ thoughts, suggestions, perceptions and ideas reach the respective people.
Dr. Yahya Al Ansaari, AAM Director, said: “It is important from students from different campuses to meet and share ideas. This meeting encourages students to plan and share responsibility for the vet conference.”
