6 months

Faculty, staff and students from the HCT-Ras Al Khaimah campuses united their leg power for a good cause when they participated in the community-oriented Terry Fox Fun Run/Walk on February 24, 2017, at the Al Qawasim Corniche.

The faculty participants, representing the Applied Communications, Education, Foundations and Engineering Divisions, joined students and Student Council members, to run, jog or simply walk the 5 km or 3km course in perfect conditions.

This is the 8th Terry Fox Run held in Ras Al Khaimah, under the patronage of theHis Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Ruler of the Emirate. It is a non-competitive charity event which aims to raise awareness about cancer and to support cancer research.

Terry Fox’s dream was “a world without cancer” and with our donations, we share his dream. The Terry Fox Run is a very special community event, in which HCT has always been proud to participate and contribute.

This year’s event was held as part of the “2017 UAE Year of Giving” initiative, as announced by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.
