The Health Sciences students from the HCT-Fujairah Women’s campus (FJW) have had the perfect opportunity to further their understanding of specialty health fields by attending the Arab Health Congress in Dubai from January 30 to February 2, 2017.
It was an enriching experience for the students, whose majors ranged from Medical imaging to Health Information and Nursing, where they participated in innovative hands-on training sessions, viewed tech-savvy teaching resources and experienced evidence-based health information in the conferences.
The Nursing students were thrilled to be able to participate in hands-on training sessions using simulation mannequins, and were equally amazed by the learning zone for simulation and immersive interactive technology, which simulate real-life scenarios in health care emergencies. In addition, a range of new innovative teaching and learning interfaces were introduced to the students who were eager to take advantage of the active learning opportunities.
The Public Health Conference was an academic exposure to the new and emerging health challenges happening in and around the Middle East, featuring some highly informative evidence-based sessions on lifestyle diseases, work related stresses and preventive health care.
