The Nursing students at the HCT-Fujairah Women’s campus (FJW) have led the call to care for your heart by hosting a Heart Awareness Event on February 8, which gave students, staffs, and faculty the opportunity to gain more awareness of their heart’s condition and to be healthy.
The highly successful event, operated by the students and faculty members, was strategically located in three areas of the campus – the cafeteria, pergola and in the Nursing Clinical Skills Laboratory (RM 601) – and was held to celebrate the World Health Organization’s International Theme for the month of February.
The day featured three booths comprised of a fun station, quiz station and a health services and healthy snacks station. Health data gathered at the stations was collected and collated for health status results, which will be sent by email to each of the participants.
The event was well-patronized by the campus’s administration, faculty, staff and students, with participants getting into the theme of it by wearing something red, which was observed for the Heart Awareness Activity.
Overall, everyone considered the event as a positive impact to increase awareness of our own health and the health of others.
