Three HCT-Abu Dhabi Men’s campus (ADM) business students have come away with a highly commendable 2nd place in the ‘Innovator Challenge: A Real-World Case Study’ competition, of the ACBSP 2016 Region 8 Conference held in November 2016.
The ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs) was held at the HCT-Dubai Women’s campus (DBW) under the theme of Preparing Students for Career Success’. The three students, Mohammed Hamza Bani Hashem, Ahmed Jumaa Al Qubaisi and Mohamed Fareed Alhashmi, were mentored by ADM Business faculty members Dr Roudaina Houjeir and Dr Beena Salim.
Three days prior to the conference, university students from the ACBSP Region, working in teams, were tasked with solving real-world business industry case study problems, provided by Mr. Abdurrahman Jassim, Senior Account Director of SAP MENA. Their solutions were presented at the conference in front of a panel of three judges made up of a representative from SAP MENA Commercial, a SAP Education representative and an entrepreneur and President of the American University of Leadership in Morocco.
The students said that they are interested in participating in future competitions, as the experience was very enriching and exciting with opportunities of networking with different colleges, faculty and students from around the world.
Dr. Imre Reczey, ADM Business Programme Chair, was tremendously proud of ADMC team.
“Identifying a compelling need and presenting a clear solution to the management problem is a great achievement and an evidence that comprehensive education necessitates the ability to apply knowledge to real-life situations away from the walls of the college campus,” he said.
