Youth Encouraged to Put Ideas into Action at Sharjah Colleges’ Innovator Forum & Innovation Challenge

2 years

Students from the HCT-Sharjah Campuses, and from local schools, were encouraged and inspired to share their ideas and bring them to life at an Innovator Forum and Innovation Challenge, held on November 23, as part of the UAE’s Innovation Week.

The forum, in the form of a panel discussion, and Innovation Challenge were hosted in the presence of Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, HCT Vice Chancellor, Dr Muhadittha Al Hashimi Director of Sharjah Women’s Campus (SJW), Dr Abdallah Al Suwaiji, Director of Sharjah Men’s Campus (SJM) and over 150 students from the Fatma Al Zahra, Al Ghubaiba, Wasit, and Al Rifaa  schools. In addition, many SJW students attended the event.

The SJW’s Shoumoukh and Tomouh Clubs added a nice twist to the Innovation Week activities at the campus when they organized a series of stimulating panel members for the event. Over the past two months Shoumoukh members scouted for UAE innovators to present their ideas to students in a panel discussion. They succeeded in securing a vibrant motivating panel with diverse innovations.

The innovators who led the panel discussion were:

  • Ahmed Al Mazrouei – Founder and CEO of AM Industry, AMIC (Innovation Center), SBC Automobile Manufacturing and Assembly and Chairman of Your Compass for Management and Technical Consulting LLC
  • Ammar Al Raisi – Technical Planner, Abu Dhabi Media Live HD
  • Ali Mrad – Community Outreach Coordinator, Sharjah Art Foundation
  • Rashed Alghafri, PhD – Forensic DNA Expert & Head of Biology and DNA Section, General Dept of Forensic Sciences and Criminology
