The HCT-Al Ain Women’s Campus (AAW) has shown its heart-felt appreciation to its community of students, faculty and staff at a special ceremony on December 8, led by campus director Mrs Hamsa Saleh Al Ammari.
The ceremony was dedicated to those who participated and organized the campus’s UAE National Day celebrations and the AAW Innovation Week.
“The college has had a successful Innovation Week, which gathered a lot of brilliant projects and efforts made by students, faculty and staff. 100% effort was given from the Business, Engineering, Education and the CIS departments to assure that AAW participated with a high level of professionalism,” Mrs Hamsa said.
“And the innovation did not stop here but carried on to serve a very successful National Day, with a unique touch this time from the Arabic department which directed and performed a play ‘The Knight and the Seven Princesses’. This talked about the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan and the Union, and was a great success. The performance from our students amazed us all, touched us all and reflected the true meaning of our love for the UAE,” she added.
Safeya Al Rahbi, Teacher-in Training at the campus’s Arabic & Emirati Studies Department, said: “Today I am delighted to be one of the people being honoured. I enjoyed participating in the ‘Knight and the Seven Princesses’ play, and I am beyond glad and delighted that the play got such positive feedback. If it wasn’t for your great support we wouldn’t have made it.”
The event was filled with laughter and camaraderie, as well as happy and enthusiastic expressions, with all those honoured proud to receive the Director’s appreciation.
Alia Al Shamisi, Business student, summed up the feelings of the recipients. “I am so honored to be among you all today as I participated in both the Innovation Week and the National Day celebrations. This gesture is truly appreciated and it will push me harder to participate and be active in future events,” she said.
