AAWC Celebrates Graduation of 200 Bachelor & Master’s Students

Under the patronage of Her Highness Dr Sheikha Shamma Bint Mohammed Bin Khaled Al Nahyan, the HCT-Al Ain Women’s College (AAWC) celebrated the graduation of 200 of its students on May 18.

The AAWC Graduation Ceremony was held at the Zayed Library Theater in Al Ain, in the presence of Dr Sheikha Shamma Bint Mohammed Bin Khaled Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khaled Al Nahyan Cultural Centre, Mouza Al Hameli, Director of Corporate Development Department at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Colleges of Technology, Mrs Hamsa Saleh Al Ammari, AAWC Director, and members of the AAWC administrative and teaching staff.

HH Dr Sheikha Shamma Bint Mohammed Bin Khaled Al Nahyan opened the celebration by saying: “Today we celebrate the success and happiness while you end your journey, having miles of diligence, learning and travel between the lines of books where you docked the ship of science and knowledge on the development port and where now you start working and shining in the skyline of UAE civilization.”

“Today I congratulate our female students and I wish them nothing but more excellence and success. I would also like to extend my thanks to the director of Al Ain Women’s College, Mrs. Hamsa Saleh Al Amari, for her continuous support in participating in the achievement of a new Guinness world record, which was recorded after our beloved country, the United Arab Emirates, accomplished the biggest reading lesson in the world,” Her Highness added.

“We wouldn’t have been able to achieve this if it wasn’t for your deep love and dedication. My beloved graduates, the road to success requires good intentions and a great well of giving, which will always be the basis of the progress of the UAE, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God bless you all and bless our beloved country,” she said.

Mrs Hamsa Saleh Al Ammari, AAWC Director, said: “We are honoured and very grateful to have Sheikha Dr. Shamma Bint Mohamed Bin Khaled Al Nhyan and Mouza Al Hameli, a representative of the HCT Board of Trustees, with us today to graduate our students. Today we celebrate the graduation of 200 female students from AAWC. You were our students for years and today you have succeeded and progressed in your studies to graduate with pride. You make us all proud of you and I wish you all the best of luck and success in your careers and studies.”

Mouza Al Hameli, a member of the HCT Board of Trustees, expressed her happiness at the graduation of a new constellation of students from the Higher Colleges of Technology in Al Ain, stressing that this celebration is a message of love and loyalty to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him.

The 200 students graduated with Bachelor and Master degrees from the Engineering Technology, Business, Computer Information Science and Education divisions. This cohort is part of the total 7,308 students graduating from HCT this year, which has been providing quality graduates over the years, reflecting the scientific inspiration applied by HCT to realise its future strategy in line with the visions and aspirations of our wise leadership.

Hamda Al Wehaibi, an AAWC graduate, was pleased to give the graduation speech in which she expressed the happiness of her fellow graduates on such a momentous day.

“Today we harvest the fruits of years of success and effort which we enjoyed in Al Ain Women’s college. We would like to dedicate our success and send our gratitude and appreciation to the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of the UAE. May god protect him and our beloved country,” she said.

The AAWC graduates stood to express their loyalty and devotion to the homeland by performing the pledge of allegiance.
