Health Information Management Students Attend 4th Gulf HIM Conference

5 years

Fifty-eight Health Information Management (HIM) students from the Fujairah, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah Women’s Colleges were fortunate to attend the 4th Annual Health Information Management Congress at the Intercontinental Hotel, Abu Dhabi on November 5.

The theme of the congress, ‘Moving Forward: Changes, Challenges and Opportunities’ in health care, was deliberated at length by stakeholders in various gulf region health authorities, including HAAD, DHA, MOH of Saudi Arabia, and the Primary Health Care Corp of Qatar.

Most delightful and gratifying for the students was being able to meet and exchange notes with HCT’s graduates who are presently very successful HIM professionals in the health care sector, including Dunia Afif, a Sharjah Women’s College graduates from 2009 who is presently working with the new HIM team at Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi.

They also met Dunia’s fellow graduate Nada Murad, who is presently working as Clinical Coder at Al Rahba Hospital, Abu Dhabi.
