HCT-RAK Colleges Register Highest Number of Direct Entry Students

4 years

The HCT- Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Colleges have received their highest number of direct-entry students for the current academic year who have enrolled from 13 male and female government high schools in the emirate.

This increase was the result of a joint initiative by the Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT) and the Ras Al Khaimah Education Zone which aimed to equip local high school graduates with the English skills needed to successfully meet the higher education entry requirements, without the need to complete an English Foundations programme.

A total of 436 students showed interest in the English language initiative and by the end of the 2013-2014 academic year, 148 students had presented for the IELTS exam.

Dr Ali Al Mansoori, RAK Colleges director stated: “This initiative will serve as a springboard for more students from Ras Al Khaimah to enter into higher education, achieve their dreams, and more fully contribute to their Emirate and the UAE as a whole.”
