Dubai Men’s College started its 24th year with a flourish, as a few hundred Foundation students, some new and others returning, gathered in the college auditorium on September 4 to listen to new Director Dr. Leo Chavez welcome them.
They also started a two-week orientation program designed by Foundation faculty members. During the orientation, students will be tasked with myriad of activities, ranging from a country project to a splash and spell activity in the college swimming pool.
“I felt so good during the presentation,” said Khalid Ali, 18, a new student who plans to study Mechatronics. “I’m happy to be at Dubai Men’s College. I want to improve my English and Math skills.”
Thabit Hamad, 17, already could feel the strong communication lines emanating from faculty to students. “I felt comfortable communicating with the teachers. I felt excited during the orientation,” he said.
Dr. Chavez summed up the start of the two week program by saying: “The orientation program reflects our commitment to student success in making sure students have the tools to achieve their goals.”
