Abu Dhabi Women’s College held a one-day Career Fair on April 13, where hundreds of interested students and alumnae were able to interact with over forty prospective employers.
The event was an occasion for graduating students, trained in professional fields such as IT, Business, Applied Media, Health Sciences, Education, and Engineering, to make connections with employers representing organizations from throughout Abu Dhabi and the Emirates. Many continuing students at the College also participated as companies gave presentations during class breaks.
‘We’re very pleased with the range of companies represented at this career fair, and the opportunities they represent for our students, who are deserving Emirati women,’ said ADWC Director Dr. Kathleen O’Connell Hodge.
Major entities across various industries attended the fair, including ADNOC, Tourism Development & Investment Company, Masdar Institute, Daman, and Rotana Hotels. In addition to hiring ADWC graduates for full-time positions, several employers looked for candidates for sponsorships, part-time work, and summer jobs.
Students had the opportunity to approach employers’ stands to discuss open positions and the qualifications employers expect. Some job seekers who brought their CVs took advantage to fix appointments for further interviews.
Dr. Hodge said: ‘Our students look forward to these regular events to network and to get information about jobs available to women with their skills. With this group of employers and the attendance of so many enthusiastic students and graduates, this semester’s Career Fair has been one of our best.’
