RAK Women’s College students urged to follow their dreams at IWD celebrations

10 years

On Monday March 8, 2010, Ras Al Khaimah Women’s College celebrated the International Women’s Day in style with a full program.

The day, organized by Ras Al Khaimah Women’s College Student Council, started with a special cake cutting which involved female staff and faculty members and students in the college canteen.

Later that afternoon the College was honored with a visit by a very special guest speaker, Engineer Suaad Al Shamsi.

Suaad is the First UAE female licensed Aircraft Engineer in Emirates Airline. She is in charge of the wheels & brakes workshop in the EK Engineering Department.

Suaad told the gathering that although she worked with the renowned Messier Bugatti in France and Honeywell in UK, she preferred to come back and work with the Emirates airline.

Suaad talked about her experiences as student, working engineer, her personal life and all the challenges and obstacles that faced her and how she overcame them.

She encouraged the students and inspired them to follow their dreams and never give up on what they want to achieve.

Suaad Al Shamsi is an active member of the WAI association.
