Abu Dhabi Men’s College (ADMC) Business students attended an informative and lively presentation on the fundamentals of Commercial Real Estate development recently by Thomas G. Eastman Chair and MIT Center for Real Estate Director Brian (Tony) Ciochetti.

“There is a tremendous amount of activity happening here making Abu Dhabi and exciting place to be for real estate development,” Dr Ciochetti said.

“The goal of the MIT Center for Real Estate is to educate the next generations of industry leaders, preparing them with tools to develop better real estate worldwide. Our pioneering research investigates the real estate transaction from initial concept to market reality, providing breakthrough knowledge that helps organizations to capitalize on today’s dynamic markets and technologies.”

In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Professor Ciochetti’s teaching areas of expertise include Commercial Real Estate Development and Real Estate Finance.

He has created or taught courses in these areas at MIT, the University of Pennsylvania, Cambridge University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Indiana University and the University of North Carolina.

Dr Ciochetti also teaches executive courses on such topics as real estate development, portfolio and asset management and asset securitization for both industry and academic organizations.

ADMC students said Dr Ciochetti’s lecture helped them to understand that the structures built by the real estate industry comprise over a third of the world’s tangible wealth, and are responsible for over a third of the world’s energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
