Students find learning is fun at Fujairah Colleges

Students enrolled in the Leadership program at Fujairah Men’s College have really picked up the baton this semester and got themselves involved in the planning and delivery of learning opportunities for their peers.

Reflecting the conference at Ras Al Khaimah HCT last week for staff that emphasized the importance of fun in the learning environment, the mixed class of females and males has been ‘uber’ creative in finding entertaining yet informative delivery methods for their presentations and other assessments.

One example of the students’ commitment to learning was a recent visit to the City Centre in Fujairah, organized by Fujairah College student Shamsah Salem. Shamsah worked closely with Mohammed Payeb of FMC and Student Services to coordinate transport, learning material and a 2-hour workshop for not only her class but also invited other students at FMC to participate. She even involved her family members in helping to run the event.

Michael Purcell, overseeing the Liberal studies program at FMC is enthusiastic about the creativity and motivation being shown by students at FMC. “We are doing as much as we can to give them opportunities to show their talents and abilities” he said.  “Hopefully this will continue as they develop during their time at Fujairah”.
